The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has been working on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aspects of Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in India, .

Karmayog believes that CSR means:

1) Steps taken by a company to neutralise, minimise or offset the harmful effects caused by its processes and product-usage.

2) Further steps a company takes using its resources, core competence, skills, location and funds for the benefit of people and the environment.

What CSR activities can a small company do? We will compile responses and forward to UNIDO.

Do see the "Karmayog CSR Ratings of the largest 500 Indian companies", and details of UNIDO's SME project at www.karmayog.org/csr.
