LAUNCHING OF THE ASIA TO GAZA CARAVAN

 

Venue: Press Club of India, New Delhi 

Date: Tuesday, 5 October 2010 / Time: 3pm.

 

As you know, different people's movements across the world are mobilising to end the blockade of the Gaza Strip and to bring humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. We too are committed to and believe that there must be a strong Asian involvement in the international movement to end the siege of Gaza and for the liberation of Palestine. 

 

It is in this context that many organisations and individuals in India & across Asia, have decided to come together to organise an Asian land & sea convoy to Gaza. This historic convoy will leave from New Delhi in December and will travel across Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and ultimately to Gaza-Palestine. The Asian convoy will be joined by delegations and vehicles in each of the countries through which it passes. 

The Asian caravan will include Satyagrahi's or civil resisters from more than 17 Asian countries - Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt. And the list is only growing.
