Today, I am in Mumbai, the commercial capital of India. That is why we organized the first-ever Industry Summit – 'Bengal Beckons' in Mumbai today.

A lively interactive session with the Captains of industries, Chairman, CEOs of top PSUs, Banks and financial institutions, Heads of business houses, and other dignitaries from entertainment industry as well, was held today at the World Trade Centre. 

Present on the occasion were doyens of the world of business like Mukesh Ambani, Adi Godrej, Venugopal Dhoot, Uday Kotak, Ashok Hinduja, Y. C. Deveshwar, Anand Mahindra, Kishore Biyani, Mehul Choksi, Amit Kalyani, M. Chandrasekharan, Madhur Bajaj, Sajjan Jindal, Aditya Somani,Arun Saraf, Ms Preetha Reddy, Sailendra Roy, Chanda Kochhar,Harsh Goyenka, Sanjeev Goenka, Sidharth Birla, jyotsna Suri, Harsh Neotia, Karan Paul, and many, many others.

Distinguished personalities from entertainment industry like Mithun Chakraborty, Bappi Lahiri, Goutam Ghosh, Prasenjit Chattopadhyay also graced the occasion.

Industry Minister, Finance Minister, Urban Development Minister, Housing Minister and Chief Secretary of the State were present.

The key advantages that Bengal has to offer to make it the most happening investment destination in the east were showcased in the gathering. It included our highly-skilled talent pool, abundance of natural resources, power availability on demand at highly competitive tariffs, robust infrastructure and logistics, one-window service delivery, simplified and e-enabled taxation, transparency, enabling policies and above all the strong commitment of our Government to bring about a rapid industrial rejuvenation of Bengal. 

The interaction was extremely warm and spontaneous. We also presented what we have done in only two years to usher a rapid socio-economic transformation of Bengal. 

Today's industry summit and interactive session has definitely generated lots of positive thoughts. We would all be working on them with passion and zeal in the days ahead.
