PARLIAMENTARY STANDING COMMITTEE ON PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCE, LAW AND JUSTICE TO VISIT KOLKATA

The Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law & Justice, headed by the Chairman Dr. E. M. Sudarsana Natchiappan is going to visit Kolkata from 24th June,2008 to 26th June,2008 to hold discussion on the 108th Amendment Bill,2008, popularly known as Women Reservation Bill. In this connection , the Committee is visiting Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai from 22nd June to 28th June, 2008.
In Kolkata, the Committee will be holding discussion with the state Chief Secretary , political parties, representatives of the state government, organizations and individuals on the Womaen Reservation Bill.
Besides, the Committee will also be holding discussion on RTI Act and reservation policy with Public Sector Undertakings like Coal India Ltd., Bharat Bhari Udyog Nigam Ltd., Kolkata Port Trust, banks like Allahabad Bank, UCO Bank, United Bank of India etc. Discussion on the Supreme Court(Number of Judges) Bill, 2008 with the Bar Council/Bar Association of the High Court is also on the Committee's agenda.
