Free market economy has merged the nation states and it banks on hatred and violence,war and civil war.The forces against humanity and nature align worldwide irrespective of color, identity, religion,race and nationalism.
We should first learn this lesson in objective perspective.
Only then we may be able where the mafia network of murderers and rapists base within the nation and beyond.
What is happening in Bangladesh is a reflection within our borders and we fail to see the rivers full of blood flowing every where every time and the killers are feel to kill any one who stands for humanity and nature.
Thus,Nazimuddin Samad -- the sixth secularist writer or publisher to have been killed in Dhaka in the last 14 months.
It reflects the truth that secularism is not an ideological discourse only as we treat it In India.Rather we have to yet prove our commitment to secularism as Indian nation as well as the idea of India are enveloped with intolerance injected with unprecedented violence and we could not stand united,we the so called democrat and secular forces.
Thus,secularism is reduced to appeasement of certain sections to make them mobile vote bank so that the hegemony of apartheid could bloom harvesting lotus.
Mind you,last year, suspected militants killed five secular writers and a publisher, including a Bangladeshi-American activist. A banned Islamist militant group, Ansarullah Bangla Team, claimed responsibility for some of the attacks.Just count the numbers at home.
Those killed in caste communal clash or simply killed,or killed in persecuted zone where rule of law means nothing and civic and human rights remain suspended as eternal deprivement and repression.
Those killers belong to the same class which want to capture this world and its resources all on the name of nationalism, religion,caste,race,development and even politics.
We have recognized it as essential evils of democracy.
It is the tolerance which makes us the soft scapegoats and we never feel anything while other are victimized and we are simply spared.
We may not be disturbed by civil war like condition in most part of the nation,military rule in some part of the country, persecution of indigenous and agrarian communities including the dalits,backwards,tribals and minorities.
It is a global phenomenon that free speech always invites the anger of the ruling hegemony and it is killed on the name of nationalism and religion,vedic violence.
Just see, attackers in Bangladesh wielding machetes killed a liberal blogger, police said on Thursday, the latest in series of murders of secular activists by suspected Islamist militants.
News from Bangladesh might not have any impact on us as we are engaged to save our skin in comfort zone and fail to understand the global phenomenon of the game which has a global network and we may not resist it without a vision which is free in its conscience.The conscience seems to be dead.
We are engaged in religious identities resulting in blind nationalism which targets every second citizen on the name of some false myths, symbols,identities with immense hatred and love is missing in day to day life.So missing is humanity.If it is a democracy then it is inhuman.
Postgraduate law student Nazimuddin Samad, 28, was attacked as he was returning from a class at his university in the capital, Dhaka, late on Wednesday, police said.
Police officer Tapan Chandra Shaha said three or four men attacked Samad with machetes and then shot him after he fell to the ground.
People heard the attackers shouting "Allahu akbar" (God is Greatest) as they fled, he said.
Imran H. Sarker, convener of the BOAN online activist group, said Samad was an outspoken critic of injustice and militancy.
"We found him always a loud voice against all injustice and also a great supporter of secularism," Sarker told Reuters.
Bangladesh has seen a wave of militant violence over the past year or so, including a series of bomb attacks on mosques and Hindu temples.
Some attacks have been claimed by Islamic State, including the killing of Hindu priest, a Japanese citizen, an Italian aid worker and a policeman.
The government denies that Islamic State has a presence in the Muslim-majority country of 160 million people.
Hundreds of students from the Jagannath University where Samad studied protested against his murder and demanded the prompt arrest of the killers.
They blocked roads in and around the university and told reporters that if those behind the earlier murders of bloggers had been punished then Samad would not have been attacked.
"Talented youths are killed one after another, but there are no visible measures against these heinous acts," said Kabir Chowdhury Tanmoy, president of the Online Activist Forum, which advocates secularism.
EU Ambassador to Bangladesh Pierre Mayaudon condemned the killing, saying freedom of expression was a fundamental human right.

গাফফার খান চৌধুরী/হাসান ইমাম সাগর ॥ জঙ্গীদের হাতে খুন হওয়া মুক্তমনা লেখকদের কাতারে যোগ হলো আরেকটি নাম। তিনি জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র ও অনলাইন এ্যাক্টিভিস্ট নাজিম উদ্দিন সামাদ। তার গ্রামের বাড়ি সিলেটে চলছে শোকের মাতম। নাজিম হত্যায় বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত কেউ গ্রেফতার হয়নি। তবে ঘটনার সময় নাজিমের সঙ্গে থাকা বন্ধু সোহেলকে খুঁজছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী। ব্যক্তিগত বা প্রেমঘটিত কারণ ছাড়াও হত্যাকা-ের সঙ্গে কোন উগ্র মৌলবাদী বা জঙ্গী সংগঠন বা জামায়াত-শিবির জড়িত থাকতে পারে বলে তদন্ত সংশ্লিষ্টদের ধারণা।
পহেলা বৈশাখ ও যুদ্ধাপরাধ মামলায় জামায়াতে ইসলামীর আমির মতিউর রহমান নিজামীর মৃত্যুদ- কার্যকরের আগে নাজিমকে অত্যন্ত পরিকল্পিতভাবে হত্যা করা হতে পারে। যদিও বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত নাজিম হত্যার সঙ্গে কারা জড়িত তা নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। এবারই প্রথম কোন অনলাইন এ্যাক্টিভিস্টকে হত্যার পর দায় স্বীকারের ঘটনা ঘটেনি। এটি হত্যাকারী বা হত্যাকারী সংগঠনের নতুন কৌশল কি-না, সে বিষয়ে বিস্তর পর্যালোচনা চলছে। নাজিমকে হত্যার প্রতিবাদে জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সামনে ছাত্ররা রাস্তা অবরোধ করে আগুন জ্বেলে বিক্ষোভ দেখিয়েছে। প্রতিবাদ সমাবেশ থেকে শনিবার রাত বারোটার মধ্যে হত্যাকারীদের গ্রেফতার করতে না পারলে রবিবার থেকে লাগাতার ধর্মঘটের ডাক দিয়েছেন আন্দোলনরত শিক্ষার্থীরা। এ ঘটনায় প্রতিবাদ জানিয়েছে জাতিসংঘ।
যেভাবে হত্যা করা হয় ॥ গত ৬ এপ্রিল বুধবার রাত নয়টার দিকে রাজধানীর সূত্রাপুর থানাধীন একরামপুর মোড়ে পৌঁছে নাজিম উদ্দিন ও তার বন্ধু সোহেল এবং রাজীব। এ সময় দুটি মোটরসাইকেলে চোখের পলকে সেখানে হাজির হয় ৪-৫ জন। পেছন থেকে তিনজন নেমে যায়। নেমেই দুইজন নাজিমের মাথায় ধারালো অস্ত্র দিয়ে কুপিয়ে জখম করে। ধারালো অস্ত্রের আঘাতে নাজিমের মাথার মগজ বেরিয়ে পড়ে। এরপর মৃত্যু নিশ্চিত করতে মাথায় গুলি চালায়। মাত্র এক থেকে দেড় মিনিটের মধ্যেই নাজিমকে হত্যার পর দ্রুত মোটরসাইকেলে করে ঘটনাস্থল ত্যাগ করে। হত্যার সময় হত্যাকারীরা আল্লাহু আকবর ধ্বনি দিয়ে নাজিমকে এলোপাতাড়ি কোপানো শুরু করে। সোহেল ও রাজীব এ সময় কৌশলে পালিয়ে যায়। তাদের খুঁজছে আইনশৃঙ্খলা রক্ষাকারী বাহিনী।
নাজিমের পরিচিতি ॥ নিহতের ভাতিজা সুমন জনকণ্ঠকে বলেন, নাজিম (২৬) বঙ্গবন্ধু জাতীয় যুব পরিষদের সিলেট জেলা শাখার তথ্য ও গবেষণা সম্পাদক ছিলেন। এছাড়া নাজিম সিলেটে গণজাগরণ আন্দোলনের সংগঠক ছিলেন। সিলেটের বিয়ানীবাজার উপজেলার তিলপাড়া ইউনিয়নের টোকাভড়াউট গ্রামের মরহুম আব্দুস সামাদের ছেলে ছিলেন তিনি। পাঁচ ভাই দুই বোনের মধ্যে নাজিম পঞ্চম ছিলেন। আর ভাইদের মধ্যে চতুর্থ। বড়ভাই জুলহাস উদ্দিন মারা গেছেন। ভাইদের মধ্যে শামীম আহমদ ও সবার ছোট জসিম উদ্দিন যুক্তরাজ্য এবং সুনাম উদ্দিন ফ্রান্স প্রবাসী। নিহতের মায়ের নাম তৈরনেচ্ছা। বোন পারুল বেগম ও নাসিমা বেগম বিয়ানীবাজারে নিজবাড়িতে বসবাস করেন। বড় বোন পারুল বেগমের বিয়ে হয়েছে কয়েক বছর আগে। মা ও বোন বিয়ানীবাজারে থাকলেও লেখাপড়া করার জন্য দীর্ঘদিন ধরে নাজিম সিলেট নগরীতে বসবাস করেছেন।
নাজিমের লেখাপড়া ॥ সিলেটের বিয়ানীবাজারের আসিরগঞ্জ দিশারী প্রিক্যাডেট স্কুল থেকে প্রাইমারি, আসিরগঞ্জ উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় থেকে এসএসসি এবং সিলেটের স্কলার্স হোম স্কুল এ্যান্ড কলেজ থেকে এইচএসসি পাস করেন নাজিম। পরে তিনি সিলেট লিডিং ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে এলএলবি অনার্স পাস করেন। সিলেটে পড়াশোনাকালীন নগরীর মজুমদারপাড়া এলাকায় একটি মেসে থাকতেন। পরবর্তীতে তিনি একাধিক মেস পরিবর্তন করেছেন। এরপর ঢাকায় জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে এলএলএম-এ ভর্তি হন। তিনি জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের আইন বিভাগের ষষ্ঠ ব্যাচের সান্ধ্যকালীন সেশনের শিক্ষার্থী ছিলেন। নাজিম পঞ্চম শ্রেণীতে বৃত্তি পেয়েছেন। তার একাডেমিক রেজাল্ট ভাল। নাজিমের গ্রামের বাড়িতে শোকের মাতম চলছে। শত শত মানুষ ভিড় করেছেন নাজিমদের বাড়িতে। সবাই হত্যাকারীদের দৃষ্টান্তমূলক শাস্তি দাবি করেছেন।
নাজিমের আশঙ্কাই সত্যি হলো ॥ গণজাগরণ মঞ্চের পক্ষে ও যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের বিচারের দাবিতে সোচ্চার থাকায় হামলার আশঙ্কা করেছিলেন নাজিম উদ্দিন সামাদ। শিক্ষক, বন্ধু ও প্রিয়জনদের কাছে আশঙ্কার কথা জানালেও নিজের অবস্থান থেকে সরে আসেননি নাজিম। আজহারুল ইসলাম নামে নাজিমের এক স্যার ফেসবুকে লিখেছেনÑ 'তোমার জন্য ভয় হয় নাজিম। একটু সাবধানে থাকো। দেখতেই তো পাচ্ছ কি হচ্ছে। সাবধানে থেকো।'
জবাবে নাজিম লিখেছিলÑ 'ভয় আমার নিজেরও হয় স্যার। অকালে মরে যাওয়ার ভয়। কিন্তু কি করবো স্যার। মাথা নত করে চুপ হয়ে বেঁচে থাকার চেয়ে এ মরণই বোধ হয় ভালো।'
ফেসবুকে আইনশৃঙ্খলা অবনতির বিষয়ে সরকারের কঠোর পদক্ষেপ চেয়ে স্ট্যাটাস দেয়ার ২৪ ঘণ্টা না পেরুতেই খুন হতে হলো নাজিমকে। তার খুন হওয়ার খবর শুনে স্ট্যাটাসে অগ্নিসারথি নামে একজন ফেসবুক বন্ধু লিখেছেনÑ 'নাজিম উদ্দিন ভাইয়ের সঙ্গে গত কয়েক দিন আগে চ্যাটিং হলো। উনার আশঙ্কাই আজ নির্মমভাবে সত্যি হলো।'
থানা পুলিশের বক্তব্য ॥ বৃহস্পতিবার সন্ধ্যায় সূত্রাপুর থানার ওসি তপন চন্দ্র সাহা জনকণ্ঠকে বলেন, নাজিমের লাশ তার ভাতিজার কাছে হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। লাশটি বর্তমানে ঢাকা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালের হিমঘরে রয়েছে। এ ঘটনায় কোন মামলা হয়নি। তবে মামলা দায়েরের প্রস্তুতি চলছে। ঘটনার সময় নাজিমের সঙ্গে সোহেল ও বেসরকারী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সাউথ ইস্টের শিক্ষার্থী নাজিব ছিলেন বলে জানা গেছে। তাদের খোঁজা হচ্ছে।
সড়ক অবরোধ করে ছাত্রদের বিক্ষোভ ॥ নাজিম হত্যার প্রতিবাদে জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সামনের সড়ক অবরোধ করে রাস্তায় আগুন জ্বেলে বিক্ষোভ করেছে ছাত্ররা। সকাল দশটা থেকে শুরু করে দুপুর পর্যন্ত রাস্তা অবরোধ ও বিক্ষোভ চলে। এ সময় প্রায় চার ঘণ্টা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সামনের রাস্তা বন্ধ ছিল। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষার্থীরা প্রতিবাদে বিক্ষোভ মিছিল করে। মিছিলটি ক্যাম্পাস ঘুরে প্রশাসনিক ভবনে গিয়ে অবস্থান নেয়। সমাবেশ থেকে হত্যাকারীদের দ্রুত গ্রেফতার ও বিচারের দাবি জানানো হয়।
ঢাকা মহানগর গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের (ডিবি) ধারণা ॥ পুলিশের পাশাপাশি মহানগর গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের পূর্ব বিভাগ নাজিম হত্যার ঘটনাটি গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে ছায়া তদন্ত শুরু করেছে। তদন্ত সংশ্লিষ্ট সূত্রে জানা গেছে, নাজিম আইনজীবী হওয়ার স্বপ্ন নিয়েই চলতি বছরের জানুয়ারিতে ঢাকায় এসেছিলেন। ঢাকায় আসার পর পরই নাজিমকে খুন হতে হলো।
ডিবির একজন উর্ধতন কর্মকর্তা নাম প্রকাশ না করার শর্তে জানিয়েছেন, নাজিম হত্যার ঘটনায় নানা বিষয় সামনে রেখে তদন্ত চলছে। তদন্তে ব্যক্তিগত শত্রুতার বিষয়টিও প্রাধান্য পাচ্ছে। সিলেটে বসবাসকালে নাজিমের কোন শত্রু সৃষ্টি হয়েছিল কি-না, তা গুরুত্বের সঙ্গে খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। যদিও এখন পর্যন্ত তদন্তে সেরকম কোন সম্ভাবনার তথ্য জানা যায়নি। কারণ সিলেটে শত্রুতা হলে নাজিমকে সিলেটেই হত্যা করার কথা। হত্যা করা সম্ভব না হলেও অন্তত নাজিম এক বা একাধিকবার আক্রমণের শিকার হতে পারত। কিন্তু তার কিছুই হয়নি। এ কারণে ব্যক্তিগত শত্রুতার তেমন কোন আলামত মিলছে না।
নাজিম ফেসবুকে খুবই সক্রিয় ছিলেন। ফেসবুকে তার একজন মেয়ে বন্ধুর সঙ্গে বিশেষ সখ্যতার তথ্য পাওয়া গেছে। যদিও সেই ফেসবুক বন্ধু নিয়েও বির্তক আছে। কোন গোষ্ঠী পরিকল্পিতভাবে নাজিমকে হত্যার পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়ন করতে ওই মেয়েকে কাজে লাগাতে পারে। আবার ওই মেয়ের ছবি বা ফেসবুকের তথ্য সঠিক কি-না, তা নিয়েও সন্দেহ আছে। ধারণা করা হচ্ছে, পরিকল্পিতভাবে নাজিমের অবস্থান ও তার সার্বিক কর্মকা- জানার জন্য মেয়ে বন্ধুকে কাজে লাগানো হতে পারে। ফেসবুকের ওই মেয়ে বন্ধুরও সন্ধান চলছে।
তবে নাজিমকে যে মুহূর্তে হত্যা করা হয়েছে, তা বিশেষ ইঙ্গিত বহন করছে। কারণ নাজিম যুদ্ধাপরাধীদের সর্বোচ্চ শাস্তির বিষয়ে সোচ্চার ছিলেন। সামনে যুদ্ধাপরাধ মামলায় জামায়াতে ইসলামীর আমির মতিউর রহমান নিজামীর ফাঁসির রায় কার্যকরের কথা রয়েছে। এছাড়া আগামী ১৪ এপ্রিল বাংলা নববর্ষ। নববর্ষে জঙ্গী সংগঠনগুলো নানাভাবেই নাশকতা চালানোর চেষ্টা করছে। এজন্য পহেলা বৈশাখের অনুষ্ঠান পালনে বিশেষ কড়াকড়ি আরোপ করা হয়েছে। ঠিক এমন একটি সময়ে অনেকটা ফিল্মি স্টাইলে চোরাগোপ্তা হামলা করে নাজিমকে হত্যা করা হলো। নাজিম হত্যার ধরনের সঙ্গে আগে ব্লগার ও মুক্তমনা লেখক হত্যার ধরনের হুবহু মিল রয়েছে।
এজন্য নাজিম হত্যার সঙ্গে উগ্র মৌলবাদী বা জঙ্গী সংগঠন জড়িত বলে ধারণা জোরালো হচ্ছে। সাধারণত এ ধরনের হত্যাকা- নিষিদ্ধ জঙ্গী সংগঠন আনসারুল্লাহ বাংলা টিম করে থাকে। জঙ্গী সংগঠনটির সিøপার সেলের সদস্যদের এ ধরনের হত্যাকা-ের নজির আছে। সিøপার সেলের কর্মকা-ের সঙ্গে নাজিম হত্যার ধরণ মিলে যাচ্ছে।
