Secular Democratic HOKKOLORAB sees Jadavpur VC Gone,Mamata reached students after she lost Mukul!West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced that Jadhavpur University Vice Chancellor Abhijit Chakrabarti has expressed his desire to resign from his post. Ironically it could have been a masterstroke but it could not happen as rather much hyped that in a political masterstroke, the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee sacked the Jadavpur University (JU) vice chancellor (VC) Abhijit Chakrabarti on Monday. It was a day, when right before the afternoon, the Trinamool Congress found itself on a sticky wicket as the number two in the party after Banerjee herself, Mukul Roy was summoned by the CBI for Saradha-related questioning.
The students were protesting for resignation of JU VC Abhijit Chakrabarti whom they held responsible for the police crackdown on them during a gherao on September 17 night.
The students had gheraoed the VC, registrar and others on the intervening night of September 16 and 17 demanding a fresh probe panel to investigate the alleged sexual harassment of a girl student on the campus on August 28.
The VC had said he feared for his life and called the police who intervened to break the gherao and arrested 35 students. Many of the students alleged that they were brutally beaten up by police inside the campus at night.
Mamata might see the youth and students creating barricades to stop the monopolistic aggression of Hindu Imperialism launched by the Prime minister and his close ally,Alexander the great Amit Shah.It happend quite dramaticaly as While media hogged much of their airtime space on how Roy was involved in the scam, Banerjee's masterstroke came shortly before 6pm when she entered the campus unannounced and met the students on hunger strike and stole their loud applause amidst her announcement that the VC is being removed.
Mamata failed to understand the urgency and could not align with the secular and democratic forces ,though her grass root level support base is intact.Mamta opted to remove the VC just after Mukul Roy,the ex Railway minister of India was summoned by CBI and circumstances indicate the evidences happen to be against him and DIDI`s empire seems to be in turmoil and the breaking within may end into greater explosion.
However,I am happy to note my point justified as I have been writing on Satyagraha as a way of resistance introduced by Gandhi.Because Gandhian way of Satyagraha is going to be very very crucial,Hindu zionism opted for the reincarnation of a Killer,Nathuram Godse to kill Gandhi once again as all the war crimes have been glorified with Hindutva agenda.

I am not a Gandhian anyway but I realised that Gandhi had been the leader of people`s aliance and the weapon was,of course,Satyagraha and Non Violence which might be credited to Gautam Buddha.
HOKKOLORAB had been against religious nationalism from the day first,The progressive democratic and essentially secular aliance worldwide was just shaping in and Shahabag movement n Bangaldesh was also echoing HOKKOLRAB branding RSS,the Hindutva and Jamat,the Islamist Islamists as twins and have been declaring a war against this.
HOKKOLROB proves that resistance is possible in Gandhian ways.It must be noted irrespective of ideologies,identitiesand strategies.That`s it.
It was not a movement against the Jadavpur VC as DIDI failed to understand and made it rather prestige issue,the continuity and sustenance of the VC.Didi could not see the most loud voices of democratic and secular India which were raised against Shaffron India and incidentally which happens to be the greatest danger for her political survival.I am not talking about the future of the ministry or the power equations of the next elections which,I believe Didi knows better.I am talking about the credit which she lost.
However,whether the political compulsions forced Banerjee to take action against the VC which the party was protecting so long, her actions without a frail won her brownie points from the student community of the state.
"I spoke to the students. I want that the peace be restored on the campus. The VC is resigning," said Banerjee after she met the agitating students.
Seconds after the chief minister made the announcement of VC's removal, students broke into loud cheer and welcomed the move. Banerjee was accompanied by state housing minister Aroop Biswas and education minister Partha Chatterjee. Earlier in the day, parents of as many as 17 fasting students took part in a 12-hour token hunger strike demanding the removal of Chakrabarti. As many as 10 students had begun the hunger strike on January 5, joined by another seven on Monday. While there was serious health deterioration of most of the students, three were hospitalised.

Bringing the curtains down on the four-month-long unrest at Jadavpur University, Vice-Chancellor Abhijit Chakrabarti on Monday agreed to step down from the post following the intervention of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
"I spoke to the VC and he informed me that an unrest is going on and he doesn't want the academic atmosphere to get vitiated further. He wants peace and so he is resigning," Banerjee announced this after an unscheduled meeting with the agitating students at the university campus.
The prolonged agitation reached its height when 13 students of the university started a hunger strike on January 5 with a five-point charter of demands including the resignation of the VC whom they held responsible for the police crackdown on them during a gherao on September 17.
At lease three of the students on hunger strike are now in hospital.
During the agitation the students boycotted classes, brought out rallies, put up posters and even held a referendum in which they voted overwhelmingly against the VC.
"I took an initiative myself. Classes were not going on for four months. An agitation was on. Considering the future of the students and those who were on strike, I took this initiative," the chief minister said.
As soon as the chief minister made the announcement of the VC's willingness to step down, the students greeted it with a thunderous applause, congratulating each other.
"Credit is not mine, credit goes to the students," she said while praising that they are proud of the university and its talented students.
