Indian state terrorism cannot stop KashmirisSrinagar, August 26, 2010: The Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Gilani deplored that the target killing of youth by Indian forces has emphasised that Kashmiris' liberation struggle cannot be subdued by Indian state terrorism. Addressing a mammoth gathering at Gulshan Aabad in Budgam, Syed Ali Gilani asked India to give up intransigence and accept the fact that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute.

He appealed the international community to come forward in a big way to stop human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also condemned Indian state terrorism. In a statement he said that Indian troops were engaged in desecrating the religious places in Kashmir. He was referring to the military operation in Jamia mosque of Srinagar conducted by Indian forces on 25th August in 1989.

The Jamat-e-Islami of Occupied state of Jammu & Kashmir and APHC leaders, Yasmin Raja and Ghulam Ahmad Mir and the Joint Association of Kashmiri Affected Families in their statements maintained that Indian obduracy was the main hurdle in resolving the Kashmir dispute.

The curfew continued to remain in force in several parts of Srinagar, Islamabad, Bijbehara and Budgam to prevent people from holding demonstrations against torturing to death of an 11th class student by Indian army. The incident triggered protests in Soura, Bachpora, Aanchaar and Barzulla localities of Srinagar. Several persons were critically injured when police and paramilitary troopers resorted to brute force and fired numerous teargas shells on protesters at Aanchaar Soura.
