UBI Credit Delivery Camp at Arambagh

Kolkata: Monday, August 30, 2010.

 

United Bank of India, Hooghly Region, has organized a Credit Delivery Camp and Financial Inclusion Programme at Arambagh, Hooghly on 30.08.2010. Sri S.L. Bansal, Executive Director of the Bank, Swami Biswanathananda, President, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Kamarpukur, Sri P.K. Roy, General Manager, Prisec & Financial Inclusion Dept. of the bank were among those present.

 

On the occasion,Rs.20.00 crores of loans were sanctioned to 1650 nos. of beneficiaries which includes Kisan Credit Card, DRI, MSE , Hosing, Education, Tractor and other Priority Sector advances. Sri Bansal handed over sanction letters to some of the beneficiaries.  Speaking on the occasion, Sri Bansal said that keeping in view of the national priorities, Bank has given emphasis on financing Agriculture, MSE and undertaking financial inclusion programme. Bank has recently recruited 100 agricultural graduates for stepping up agricultural advance.

 

Sri Bansal further informed that United Bank of India has been selected for second National Award for excellent performance in MSE lending during 2009-10 financial year. Besides, United Bank has been selected MSME National Award for both East Zone and North East Zone for excellent performance in PMEGP during 2009-10 financial year.  He also mentioned that that under financial inclusion plan, Bank is set to spread its wings to 4341 un-banked villages by March 2012. Branches will be opened in 45 villages and the remaining villages will be covered by ICT solution through Business correspondent Model.
