INTERNATIONAL CURATORIAL PRACTICES
Panel Discussion
Friday, July 25, 6.00 pm
Siddhartha Hall
Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan
By examining 'International Curatorial Practices', young curators from India and Cuba with working experiences abroad (in Germany and other countries) will discuss the challenges of modern curatorial practices, what provokes them as curators in an established art environment and how they determine their role and place in contemporary art and times. This will be examined through the exchange of information and case studies related to their projects. The case studies lead to larger questions of the political, cultural and historical milieu within which they work, and the wider national and international contexts. The discussion will be introduced with a lecture on Contemporary Art in Cuba by Yuneikys Villalonga, young curator and critic from Cuba.
Geeta Kapur (moderator) is an independent critic and curator.
